A Week of Jesus, Stitching, Reading, and Crocheting. and "Likes"! from Faith, Trust and Breast Cancer

Hello There,

This past week has had a few more challenges than usual. I know I'm not the only blogger who faces challenges in life, but wow!  I sure admire those of you who can blog consistently despite life's curve balls!  My hat is off to all you!

However, I must make changes to meet these unpredictable challenges.  After much thought, I've decided to write one post a week and continue linking up to all my usual parties.

Another change is I will be posting daily on my Instagram account (user name:  miaismine22).  This account is private ...

Saturday's Song: Glorious Unfolding Part 3. Slow Stitching. Stash Report. Book Date. from Faith, Trust and Breast Cancer

Saturday's Song: Glorious Unfolding Part 3

In my last post we read about learning and praying the promise of God.  I bet many of you pray them over your loved ones' lives, but do you pray them over your own life? I know I struggle to pray for myself, but I'm working on that.

In his book, Prayer of Jabez, Bruce Wilkinson writes about a man who eavesdropped on the prayers of a man he deeply respected, a man of great faith.  Guess who this amazing man prayed for first?

Himself.  Yup.  Himself.

Friends, we are worth praying ...

Saturday's Song: Glorious Unfolding Part 1. Slow Stitching: Binding St. Patrick's Day Topper. Stash Report. Book Date. from Faith, Trust and Breast Cancer

Saturday's Song: Glorious Unfolding Part 1

I've featured this song before yet I've felt compelled to share it again.  In fact, I will be sharing a mini series based on Glorious Unfolding by Steven Curtis Chapman.

Lay your head down tonight
Take a rest from the fight
Don't try to figure it out
Just listen to what I'm whispering to your heart
'Cause I know this is not
Anything like you thought
The story of your life was gonna be
And it feels like the end has started closing in on you
But it's ...

Saturday's Song: Not For a Moment. Slow Stitching: Binding and Prayer Shawls. Stash Report. Book Date. from Faith, Trust and Breast Cancer

Saturday's Song:  Not For a Moment

These lyrics are so very true!  Even when we don't feel God's comfort and nearness, He is with us!  In fact, He goes before us - before that trial even started, He was there!

He is indeed unchanging and will keep His promises!
We are but mere humans, but He is God!  He has been, is and will be at our side through all time!  Beloved, our names are written on the palm of His hand - you are not forgotten - He walks with you.

Slow Stitching

I made a couple of table ...

Saturday's Song: Only Jesus. Slow Stitching: Binding and Prayer Shawls. Stash Report. Book Date. from Faith, Trust and Breast Cancer

Hello There,

Happy Easter!  The tomb is empty!

He is risen indeed!

Praise God!

How I've missed you all!  Unexpected events popped up which took over our lives for a bit.  Now, thankfully,  everyone is fine and we are all adjusting to a new normal.

One of our adjustments is a low-fat diet - which I'm loving!  Full disclosure:  I do treat myself to the occasional donut from Krispy Kreme when I visit my parents!

Another change is that I have dived a bit more into  scrapbooking planning with the Happy Planners.  It's been fun sharing memories as ...

Monday's Strength: Psalms 14. Scrappy Love. Book Date. from Faith, Trust and Breast Cancer

 Monday's Strength:  Psalms 14

In Psalm 14, much focus is on the situation of the people.  I decided to focus on God's actions instead.  It appears that David feels surrounded by an evil, sin-filled environment.  However, I believe God remains hopeful as He is seeking those who understand Him, who seek Him.
Are you feeling overwhelmed with dread?  It's quite understandable if you are.  As we face the normal challenges of everyday living, new layers of complications are added:  a pandemic, politics and social issues.  The pandemic alone complicates every day tasks!  Feeling dread is quite normal ...

Monday's Strength. Scrappy Love. Pressing On. Book Date. from Faith, Trust and Breast Cancer

Monday's Strength:

Now that we've finished the verses from Until We Reach Home, I was wondering where to go from here.  For now, I want to share this verse that speaks of gratefulness.
You see, we, my husband and I, had a COVID scare, but thankfully we both tested negative!
As you can well imagine, it’s been hard to find time or even enough focus to blog or craft.
I'm so grateful for these results, that I just want to read about gratefulness!  I want God to know that my heart is grateful to Him for ...

Monday's & Tuesday's Strength: When Our World Collapses. Book Date. Pressing On. from Faith, Trust and Breast Cancer

Monday's Strength: When Our World Collapses
Continued study of some of the verses shared in Lynn Austin's Until We Reach Home.
When I was but a young girl, I asked Grandpa about married life. I was curious because I knew Daddy had been born during The Great Depression. I wanted to know how Grandpa had managed as not only was he supporting Grandma with a baby on the way (Daddy); he was helping to support his mother and siblings.

After a moment, he thoughtfully responded that married life could sometimes be like a square table with only three ...

Monday's Strength: Song of Songs 1:15. A New Scrappy Project Takes Off! Book Date Reads! To Do Tuesday. from Faith, Trust and Breast Cancer

Monday's Strength:  Song of Songs 1:15
Ludwig expresses his love for Sofia so beautifully! Interesting that he compares her eyes to doves. In fact, he states that they are doves.
Matthew 3:16 and Luke 3:22 state that the dove is a symbol of the Holy Spirit.
Could it be that he saw God in her eyes? Could it be that her growing faith was the main attraction?
I believe it is possible.
Proverbs 31:30 reads:  "Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised."
This verse ...

My Dear Reader, what are you waiting for?

A loved one to come to know Jesus?

A Word from God?

Be strong, precious child,
take heart and
wait for the LORD!

There is no safer place to be than waiting on the LORD.
As we wait, we ...

Monday's Strength: Psalm 107, Part 1. Fall Fun with New Projects! Book Date. from Faith, Trust and Breast Cancer

Monday’s Strength

My spirit was deeply touched when I read these beautiful Scriptures at PeaBeas’ Photos and Scribbles.  I’ve decided to do a series on them.

29He stilled the storm to a whisper;

Do you have storms in your life that need to “be stilled”?  I know I have, I still do and I will in the future.  Hence Psalm 46:10:  Be still and know He is God.  We can attain physically stillness via detachment or some other tool, but to still our minds is indeed another issue.

How does one still the mind?

At a ...

Monday's Strength: Psalm 143:8. Machine Embroidery: Xmas! Book Date. from Faith, Trust and Breast Cancer

Monday's Strength

Yesterday I visited  Peabea’s link up party at Sunday Scripture Blessings @ Peabea's Scribble Pad.  This verse at Cut Off in the Kenweenawspoke to my heart.  What a lovely daily morning prayer!  The King James Version is even more beautiful!
8Cause me to hear Thy lovingkindness in the morning;
for in Thee do I trust:
cause me to know the way wherein I should walk;
for I lift up my soul unto Thee.
Ps.. 143:8 KVJ

Monday's Strength. My Bella Box. Book Date. Pressing On. from Faith, Trust and Breast Cancer

Monday's Strength
This week’s post will be a bit different. Mary from Hill Country Quilter I had a question about the Box of Hope I mentioned in last week’s post, so here’s a mini tutorial on how to make one along with my verse of the week.
A dear friend gave me the box numerous years ago. She decorated it with yellow (my favorite color) origami paper and painted it with a clear coat. I love the little yellow handle as evidenced by the wear on it!
To make your own, you will need

Monday's Strength: Psalm 62:6. Pressing Matters in Batiks. Book Date. Pressing On. from Faith, Trust and Breast Cancer

Monday's Strength

I once asked my pastor for guidance.  After sharing his wisdom, he concluded by saying, “Do not let this go.  It must be dealt with.”

Those were challenging words to hear, much less implement.  But I implement them I did.

The journey was arduous.  Near the bottom of the valley, God moved in a miraculous way.  I slowly began my journey toward the top of the hills.

It was then that I found this verse in my Box of Hope cards.  Praise God that I stayed the course!  Though I did not see it at the time ...

Monday's Strength. A Learning Thing. Book Date. from Faith, Trust and Breast Cancer

Monday's Strength

Perseverance:  continued effort to do or achieve something despite difficulties, failure, or opposition Merriam Webster

To me, for today, perseverance is the focus of this verse.  I know that despite the hindrances, I will persevere as I learn to once again lean on the precious arms of my Savior, Jesus Christ.

A Learning Thing

After measuring the $7.50 quilt blocks, I added compensating strips and put the blocks together.  To me it looked like a mess and I was ready to throw it out, but I decided to keep it.  I realized pressing was my error ...

Monday's Strength. 30's $7.50 Quilt. Book Date. from Faith, Trust and Breast Cancer

Monday's Strength

As promised, here is another tool that I'm using to encourage myself.  It is a theme based Scripture writing plan by Shannon over at Sweet Blessings. April's theme was "But God"
I first heard about "But God" verses in a sermon by Pastor Dale.  He said to pay attention when we read/hear "But God".  Then, last week, I found Shannon's amazing Scripture writing plan. Talk about a God wink!

Here's part of today's verses:

May I encourage you to try out these writing plans?  We need to choose whose voice we ...

Monday's Strength. Stitcher's Garden. Book Date. from Faith, Trust and Breast Cancer

Monday's Strength

Romans 15:13 is my prayer as we follow His will.  Sometimes, as we grow and mature, we change.  Change can be hard, painful.  Yet, as we go through these changes, I pray we overflow with hope as we follow His leading.

Stitcher's Garden
I'm slowly catching up on my Stitcher's Garden Blocks.  Here is the latest one.
To me, it's a departure of color from my other blocks.....but I'm coming to like it.  This month's lesson was making piping.  The red piping really pops and the lavender one quietly ...
